Our client is a well-established and welcoming nursery setting, carefully designed to support the needs of different age groups and create a warm, stimulating, and engaging environment for children to learn and thrive.
The service is now seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day leadership of the nursery. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified early years professional who has already gained experience as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy Manager, and is ready to take their next step in a supportive, child-focused setting.
The Deputy Nursery Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth running of the setting, providing high-quality care and education for all children. The role includes mentoring staff, leading by example, and supporting in all areas of nursery management — from safeguarding and curriculum delivery to staff development and family engagement.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent) is essential.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership role within an early years setting (e.g. Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy Manager).
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and statutory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- A caring, inclusive, and child-centred approach to early years education.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the overall management of the nursery, ensuring high standards in care, learning, and safety.
- Lead and motivate staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support to help them grow professionally.
- Oversee planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS.
- Maintain effective partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and all relevant regulations.
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the absence of the Manager.
