Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 16:30 + Saturday rota

Earning Potential (OTE)

Basic Salary: £45,000 per year

Overtime Rate: Saturdays paid at overtime rates

Overview
We're looking for an experienced and dedicated Workshop Controller to lead and inspire the workshop team at our Kidderminster site. You'll manage workflow, ensure quality and compliance, maximise utilisation, and guide the team to deliver exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities

Ensure workshop processes are followed for every job

Receive job cards, pre-time each job, and allocate work to technicians

Monitor job progress and maximise sold hours

Obtain authorisation for additional work via service reception or direct customer contact

Oversee MOT to ensure quality, compliance, and first-time pass rate

Ensure 100% sign-off on completed inspections

Identify warranty items and ensure correct documentation

Supervise, develop, and train the workshop team

Audit job packs ready for administration/invoicing

Monitor workshop loading and ensure continuity

Measure technician activity and performance

Schedule PDIs and used vehicle preparation

Maintain special tools and equipment

Ensure workshop cleanliness and organisation

Handle customer complaints quickly and effectively

Supervise junior staff and identify training needs

Manage workshop apprentices from training and wellbeing perspective

Ensure all company policies and statutory requirements are met

What You'll Need

Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI)

Strong passenger car or commercial vehicle knowledge and experience

Previous experience as a senior technician

Supervisory experience

Process-driven with strong technical background

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills

Ability to work under pressure and multitask

Great communication skills, both verbal and written

Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes

DBS check required prior to joining
