Manual Machinist

Salary: £27300

Contract Type: Permanent

Shift Pattern: Double Days no weekends

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist with CNC Lathe skills to join our busy Machine Shop. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual and CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts to exact specifications, working from engineering drawings and blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:

* Setting up and running manual and CNC lathes to produce high-quality parts

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents

* Inspecting work using precision measuring instruments

* Maintaining machines and ensuring smooth operation

* Working to production targets while upholding quality standards

* Following Health & Safety and Quality Management procedures

* Supporting continuous improvement and process efficiency

Skills & Experience Required:

* Proven experience operating manual and CNC lathes

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Strong understanding of workshop practices and machining processes

* Skilled in using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other inspection tools

* Experience with a variety of materials including Duplex and Nickel Alloys (desirable)

* A team player with attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
