Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading property consultancy in their search for an Assistant Town Planner to join their Oxford office.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated planning professional with at least one year of experience to join a highly regarded planning team working on a diverse portfolio of projects. The team provides planning advice across a wide range of sectors including residential, rural, commercial, and mixed-use development, supporting clients through every stage of the planning process.
The RoleAs an Assistant Town Planner, you will support senior members of the team on a variety of planning projects while also developing your own experience across site appraisals, planning applications, and planning policy research. You will gain exposure to a broad mix of projects and work closely with clients, consultants, and Local Planning Authorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications
Undertaking planning policy research and site appraisals
Supporting the preparation of Planning Statements and related documents
Liaising with clients, Local Planning Authorities, and external consultants
Assisting with planning appeals and project coordination
Supporting senior planners across a variety of development projects
Candidate RequirementsDegree in Town Planning or a related discipline
A minimum of 1 year's professional planning experience
Experience gained within a planning consultancy or local authority
Strong understanding of the UK planning system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Motivated and eager to progress within the planning profession
