Mechanical Construction Manager

My client is a globally recognised Tier 1 M&E contractor with a strong track record delivering large-scale, high-profile projects across the UK and Europe. They operate across a range of sectors including commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical developments.

They are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join the team on a £110m healthcare development in South West London, with the project scheduled for
completion in 2027.

Package & Benefits

Basic salary: £75,000 - £80,000

22 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing with service)

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning and coordination of mechanical construction activities, including scope, sequencing, and resource planning.
Manage all mechanical site works, including ductwork, pipework, plant installation, and commissioning phases.
Supervise subcontractors and site operatives to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Work closely with design and engineering teams to review drawings and resolve any technical queries on site.
Monitor mechanical progress against programme, identifying risks and driving productivity on site.
Ensure all mechanical installations comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company QA procedures.
Maintain high health & safety standards across all mechanical activities.
Support project reporting, inspections, snagging, and system handovers through to final completion.
Requirements

Proven experience working as a Mechanical Construction Manager or Mechanical Site Manager within an M&E or Building Services contractor.
Strong background delivering large-scale mechanical packages on commercial, healthcare, or mission-critical projects.
Good technical knowledge of HVAC systems, pipework, ductwork, plant installation, and commissioning processes.
Experience managing subcontractors, site teams, and coordinating with main contractors and consultants.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and programmes.
Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and quality control procedures within the construction industry.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
