Careers and Employability Advisor

  • Salary: £18-22 per hour

We are seeking three Careers and Employability Advisors to join our client's team. This role involves assisting in the planning and delivery of comprehensive careers education, enterprise, and employability programmes for students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in careers guidance and a passion for supporting students in achieving their career aspirations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of careers education, enterprise, and employability programmes in collaboration with the Enterprise, Employability, and Careers Manager and other partners.
  • Conduct one-to-one confidential interviews with students to support their career aspirations.
  • Plan and deliver group work activities focused on Higher Education, Apprenticeships, and Employability Skills.
  • Support students with Higher Education Finance and Bursary support, including working with Student Finance England and universities.
  • Assist in the development of resources, including e-resources, to support careers, higher education, apprenticeships, employment, and training courses.
  • Support tutors in delivering careers education and related programmes.
  • Stay updated with the educational landscape, including Gatsby Benchmark and Labour Market Information (LMI).
  • Support curriculum tutors in planning CPD on issues related to careers, higher education, employability, and apprenticeships.
  • Organise student enrichment activities and events related to careers education, including University visits and Employment Fairs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree plus a qualification in Careers Guidance (Level 6 careers equivalent) or a Level 6 in Careers Guidance Qualification.
  • Proven experience in delivering careers guidance and educational programmes.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites in North London.
