Senior Environmental Health Officer

Location:  London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 7+ Months

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Pay Rate: £ 25.49 per hour

Responsibilities

Implement council and business unit policies and discharge statutory duties related to all aspects of Environmental Health work.

Investigate statutory nuisances, drainage, public health, and other service requests, taking appropriate enforcement actions when required.

Examine and comment on the environmental health implications of planning, licensing, minerals and waste, and Part A1 Permit applications.

Inspect premises subject to relevant legislation enforced by the team and take appropriate enforcement actions to ensure compliance.

Contribute to the continuous operational improvement of the team through participation in team meetings and specific project work.

Provide professional opinions and advice on Environmental Health matters as needed.

Person Specification

Ability to work 37 hours per week with a hybrid working arrangement.

Possession of essential user skills.

Strong analytical skills to assess and address environmental health issues.

Excellent communication skills for providing professional opinions and advice.

Proven experience in enforcement actions and compliance with legislation.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and contribute to operational improvements.
