**POSITION: Engineering Team Leader**

**LOCATION: North Wales**

**HOURS: Rotating shifts**

**SALARY: £43,000p/a**

Overview:

Working as part of the Plant Engineering Team, the Maintenance / Engineering Team Leader role has the responsibility for overseeing the day to day running of the production lines / site facilities and actively leads a team of Engineers and Apprentices to ensure overall objectives and production targets are achieved.

To manage engineering processes, carry out systematic trouble shooting and identify potential opportunities for improvement in all areas of production including scrap, KPIs, Quality and Health & Safety.



They will be proactive in coordinating activities and be fundamental in maintaining and improving machinery and reliability as well as liaising with the appropriate personnel during Maintenance and Engineering issues. Ensuring all reports are adequately completed and handed over to the next shift and Plant Engineers for presenting at the Production meeting.



Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the performance of the shift and allocate tasks to Engineers on shift.
- Be able to communicate information, via all forms, to the team.
- Prioritise workloads and tasks to meet the companys best interests.
- To assist in preventative and corrective actions, be part of project teams to improve machinery effectiveness and reliability.
- To work with the quality, logistics and engineering departments to maintain existing standards and implement continuous improvement.
- To be able to lead, coordinate and develop the team with a desire to get the best out of individuals and the equipment and see all matters through to completion.
- Undertake a range of repair and maintenance activities to maximise the reliability of plant machinery and equipment.
- Attend start of shift team briefings and completion of shift reports to ensure a comprehensive shift handover.
- Ensure compliance to preventative maintenance routines for all site equipment.
- Communicate equipment issues or parts order replacement to the Plant Engineer.
- Monitor equipment performance and work with the wider plant engineering team to design out recurring problems.
- Carry out installation work to include modifying existing equipment and installation of new equipment.
- Inspect completed installations and maintenance repair work to ensure conformance with required operational standards.
- Promote and maintain high levels of standards in relation to Environmental, Health & Safety policies and practices.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, training and reviewing professional publications.
- Perform shift hand overs and start of shift team briefings as required.
- Prioritise workloads and tasks to meet the Companys best interests.
- Conduct accident/incident and disciplinary investigations as required.
- Monitor KPIs, line performance and escalations; deal with any line performance issues in accordance with Company guidelines
- Perform any reasonable tasks as instructed by Management

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

- Minimum of 3+ years experience of working in a busy manufacturing environment FMCG environment desirable
- Experience of workings shifts desirable
- H.N.C/ONC minimum/City & Guilds qualification or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Electronic Engineering
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Proactive approach to housekeeping, 5s methodology and waste minimisation
- Proactive approach to Health & Safety in the workplace
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organisational and problem solving skills
