In fact, our most powerful advances come from the people we support, because they tell us how it should ; As he Registered Service Manager you will be responsible for the operational day-to-day management of the service ensuring Aspen’s Charities continued compliance with relevant legislation.
Working in partnership with colleagues in the senior management team you will ensure the provision of a high quality service enabling individual needs and organisational priorities to be met in accordance with available ; Responsible for the management of a residential services/s, including holding CQC registration, effectively promoting and enabling service users to live a high quality life and managing a staff team, giving support and encouragement to the highest ; Aspens Charities is an ambitious, forward thinking Organisation and you must be committed to developing and enhancing the services we provide Duties & Responsibilities Service Development: In partnership with the senior management team participate in the strategic development of the organisation and assist with the identification and development of strategies for the planning and delivery of quality and innovative services.
To grow and develop services through increasing delivered hours and maximising referral ; To identify marketing opportunities and develop a marketing ; To manage projects that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
To produce monthly management reports and attend Senior Management Team and Board Meetings as required Team Management and Leadership: To lead and manage a large staff team and be a positive role model to people using the service and the staff team.
To keep the Head of Residential Services informed of the performance of each area of service for which you have responsibility where necessary producing action plans for improvement and ; Promote positive communication within the organisation ensuring staff and service users receive relevant information concerning the Charity Offer appropriate advice to staff with regard to the management and support of service users and on the implementation of service user ; Ensure that the care planning process is implemented to ensure service user plans are current and relevant, that annual reviews are implemented and risk assessments and in place and monitored on a regular basis.
Support the Head of Residential Services in developing services where identified by the organisation.
To keep up to date with current professional practice in relation to social and health care.
Ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place and promote a positive attitude to risk taking without impinging upon the right of a service user to take ; To ensure that there is a co-ordinated and consistent approach to service provision that is cost effective and efficient making the best use of allocated ; To identify recruitment needs and develop plans to ensure the service is appropriately resourced with capacity for ; To be routinely involved in a range of human resources/staff management duties including:
• Workforce Planning to agreed KPIs
• Recruitment and selection
• Training
• Supervision, Appraisal
• Disciplinary/Capability procedures
• Absence Management To ensure that processes and procedures are in place to meet the various organisational and staff requirements with regard to human resources ; To ensure that staff are trained for their roles and responsibilities and that all groups of staff within the team have access to appropriate training and learning ; To establish and maintain effective two way communication to ensure that all staff are aw are of and can contribute to operational and strategic developments staff forums, staff ; To arrange and attend regular service planning meetings with service delivery ; To put in place systems to ensure healthy working practices and that staff receive relevant information to fulfil their health and safety ; To ensure that all staff are familiar with and work in line with Aspens Charities policies and ; To offer advice, support and guidance to staff at all ; Contribute to ‘on the job’ training of staff Ensure that the staff team are supervised and appraised on a regular basis, that and that any concerns about their capability is made known to the Head of Residential Services and HR.
Keep up to date with good care practice in relation to adults with learning disabilities in general and with those on the autistic spectrum or with mental health needs and cascade to the staff ; Compliance: To maintain a high quality service working in partnership with colleagues to manage ; Ensure that a full assessment has been completed to ensure that the needs of the service user can be met by the service being offered and that a full and comprehensive service user plan is developed and implemented.
To ensure the service meets, and indeed exceeds, the requirements of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission guidance ‘Essential Standards of Quality & Safety’.
To ensure the delivery of safe, personalised services to each individual service user through assessment, person centred planning and regular outcome focussed reviews of ; Complete duties as set out around the SharePoint systems of the ; Ensure regular monitoring which identify standards and where appropriate take action to address deficient standards within the external services.
Operate within the policies of Aspens and ensure the maintenance of equality of opportunity for service users, staff and visitors and to present the work of Aspens in a positive ; To ensure compliance with Aspens Charities Development & Training and Supervision ; Assist with disciplinary and HR matters as appropriate.
Quality Assurance Promote current best practice in relation to safeguarding vulnerable adults is implemented at all times.
To implement and maintain an effective quality assurance programme to promote high quality, best practice and continuous improvement of services in line with Aspens Charities Quality Assurance ; To deliver services effectively and efficiently and have clear monitoring procedures and processes in place to ensure standards are continually ; To resolve all complaints in accordance with Aspens Charities Complaints & Compliments ; To evaluate services through regular review, annual service user questionnaires, analysis of complaints & compliments ; To implement Aspens Charities Governance Framework to continuously improve services, care and ; Promote positive communication at all levels to ensure the policies and procedures of the Charity are understood and are being followed positively.
Resource Management To proactively manage delegated budgets ensuring efficient use of ; To develop operational controls in partnership with the senior management team To develop operational controls in partnership w with the senior management team to ensure a commitment to cost effectiveness and value for money.
Monitor financial expenditure for each service and ensure the service operates within budget limits.
Participate in the recruitment and induction of staff as required Service Delivery To ensure the delivery of person centred care/support services that promote independence, choice and dignity to empower people to live as independently as possible by endorsing good practice, provide stimulating activities enabling people to have as much control over their lives as possible.
Promote the best interest of people being supported and ensure that teams work to maintain the best standards of care.
Act to promote the best interest of service users ensuring their wishes are made known to others especially with regard to their mental capacity.
Ensure that the keyworker system works effectively to promote the wishes of service users.
To ensure care/support services are structured in a way that provides flexibility, reliability and ; To ensure the development of robust systems and procedures in line with the ; To ensure the service is appropriately resourced with the right number of suitably qualified, skilled and experienced ; To ensure that all new referrals are responded to in a timely manner in line with contractual and organisational ; To oversee the co-ordination of the staff team across all ; To deliver services that ensure the Organisation’s duty of care to the service user and staff providing the service.
To ensure good communication and links with all stakeholders with regard to the provision of services including commissioners, service users, relatives, social work teams ; To ensure the office is resourced during office hours and ensure the provision of an effective out of hours on-call ; The successful candidate will Have extensive experience at a management level in respect of provision of residential services Have a Level 5 Diploma Qualification or equivalent ( or Leadership and Management NVQ level 4) Have a good understanding of CQC outcomes applicable to residential care settings Be able to form positive relationships with other professionals and have experience of multidisciplinary working Understand person centred approaches to the support and care of service users Have a good understanding of and experience in managing safeguarding issues and in working with local authority commissioners and care managers.
Have the ability to manage groups of staff and experience in the management of ‘difficult’ staff.
Have the ability to train and assess staff Have experience in the management investigations and disciplinary matters.
Be well organised, methodical and determined yet flexible in order to motivate staff.
Have good knowledge of current legislation, learning disabilities, autism, and social care issues in relation to mental capacity and deprivation of ; Have a full driving licence
