SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Primary Support - Sheffield

Are you motivated by supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them thrive in school? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking committed SEN Teaching Assistants to offer 1:1 support for primary pupils across several friendly and inclusive schools in the Sheffield area.

Role Overview:

In this role, you will provide personalised support to children with a range of additional needs, such as:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Behavioural challenges

Difficulties with verbal communication

Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff, you will help ensure each child can engage with learning and make meaningful progress.

Key Duties:

Deliver 1:1 support tailored to individual pupil needs

Assist with classroom learning and adapted tasks

Use communication tools such as PECS and visual schedules

Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and personal development

Respond to and de-escalate challenging behaviours calmly and professionally

You Will Bring:

Experience supporting children with SEN, especially ASC or behavioural needs

Patience, resilience, and a caring approach

Flexibility and a proactive mindset

Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) - beneficial but not required

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
