Description

Key responsibilities

Act as a Functional Safety subject‑matter expert, providing direct support to operating sites across the full safety lifecycle
Lead and facilitate LOPA and SIL assessments, with a strong focus on practical, owner‑operator environments
Deliver design support for Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
Perform Design Verification, Functional Safety Assessments (FSA) and lifecycle compliance reviews
Support and, where required, lead process safety‑related incident investigations
Develop and deliver training in process safety and Functional Safety methodologies
Participate in global process safety audits, including site self‑assessment programmes
Contribute to the ongoing development and strengthening of global process safety standardsProfile

The successful candidate

Degree‑qualified (BSc or equivalent), ideally in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience in process or equipment design and/or operations with strong Functional Safety exposure
Holds a recognised Functional Safety qualification (CFSE, TÜV FS Engineer or equivalent)
Demonstrable experience leading SIL / LOPA studies within operating plants
Strong working knowledge of IEC / ISA 61511 and related process safety legislation
Confident communicator with the ability to influence, guide and challenge at all organisational levels
Comfortable operating in an international environment with frequent site interaction
Willing and able to travel extensively (typically 50-65%, primarily within Europe)
Additional experience in PHA facilitation, alarm management, human factors or area classification is advantageousJob Offer
