An innovative educational institution in Reading is seeking a History Teacher to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis starting in September 2025. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about shaping the minds of students through a modern and dynamic approach to teaching history.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Deliver engaging and informative history lessons to students in KS3-KS5, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum.
- Utilize modern teaching methods and technologies, including video conferencing and online resources, to enhance student learning experiences.
- Proactively manage classroom environments, fostering a culture of curiosity and self-directed learning among students.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to develop innovative lesson plans and learning strategies.
- Regularly assess student progress through both formal and informal methods, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Participate in school events and activities, contributing to the vibrant community atmosphere.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of educational trends and best practices in history education.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in history or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching history at secondary school level (KS3-KS5).
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online teaching tools.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for History.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and motivating students.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
