Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Phase: EYFS - KS2 (year group depending on candidate fit)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Burnley primary school from September 2026. The successful candidate will be placed in EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on their strengths, experience and suitability.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning, personal development and wellbeing across the primary age range.

Key Responsibilities

Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher.
Work with individuals, groups and whole classes to reinforce learning.
Assist with planning and preparation of learning activities where required.
Support children with additional needs to access the curriculum.
Help create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
Contribute to assessments and record-keeping as directed.
Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.

Essential Requirements

A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning, or equivalent).
Experience working with children in EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Desirable Skills

Experience supporting SEND pupils.
Knowledge of phonics programmes, early years frameworks or KS2 curriculum (depending on phase).
Ability to use initiative and contribute to planning and learning activities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
