We are working with an, inclusive 11–18 secondary school with a thriving sixth form in the Wealden area of Kent. The school is proud of its warm, respectful culture and ambitious learning environment, where students are encouraged to aim high, work together and feel that they truly belong within the school community.
They are seeking a confident, committed German Teacher to take on a long-term cover role from the end of the Easter break through to July, with a primary focus on Key Stage 3 German.
The Role
- Teaching KS3 German to mixed-ability classes
- Taking full classroom responsibility, including:
- Planning engaging, well-structured lessons
- Marking and providing meaningful feedback
- Preparing resources that support progress and confidence
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning
- Creating a classroom climate built on mutual respect, consistency and clear routines
- Contributing to the wider life of a busy, comprehensive school where learners are encouraged to be independent, resilient and aspirational
Strong classroom management is essential for this role – the school is looking for someone who can establish calm, purposeful learning quickly and sustain it over time.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have recent experience teaching German at KS3 (KS4 experience is an advantage but not essential)
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students
- Be confident planning, marking and assessing in line with curriculum expectations
- Be flexible, reliable and ready to commit through to the end of the academic year
Both experienced teachers and strong ECTs with excellent behaviour management skills are welcome to apply.
What’s on Offer
- Long-term placement from the end of the Easter holidays to July
- The opportunity to make a real impact with your own classes rather than day-to-day supply
- Support from a friendly, professional agency team throughout your assignment
- Competitive pay, in line with your experience and responsibilities
