Are you passionate about making a difference in people’s lives? Join our dedicated team in Edinburgh as an Outreach Housing Support Worker, where you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals transition from temporary accommodation into permanent housing and independent living.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver person-centred support using a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) approach.
• Plan and lead key work sessions to develop and review tailored support plans.
• Help individuals build essential life skills – from budgeting and shopping to cooking and maintaining a home.
• Provide guidance on housing options, welfare benefits, and community resources.
• Maintain professional boundaries and develop safety plans for those you support.
• Advocate for individuals and assist with administrative tasks like housing benefit applications.
• Keep accurate, high-quality records and case notes.

What We’re Looking For

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Experience managing a caseload and meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and policy.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems.
• Skilled in de-escalating conflict and maintaining clear records.
• Awareness of First Aid, mental health, substance use, and trauma-informed care.

This role is primarily Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, based at a local community project with outreach work in the surrounding area. Travel expenses are covered for appointments during your shift.
