Mechanical Engineer

Pay: £16 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Location: Middleton Client: Leading manufacturing company

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our client's busy manufacturing team in Middleton. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well‑established organisation, supporting production and ensuring machinery runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, service, and repair mechanical equipment and production machinery.

Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.

Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.

Work closely with production staff to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance schedules.

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times.

Contribute to process improvements and cost‑saving initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
