A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PARTIAL CARE COUNSELOR
A Partial Care Counselor provides on-site direct behavioral health care services to clients (Adult, MICA, Geriatric) in a Partial Care setting. Direct service expectation is 2-5 groups daily. Responsible for providing daily structure and outpatient groups which include but are not limited to, supervision and assistance with daily living skills, anger management, mental health issues, current events, cooking skills, supportive counseling, health and exercise issues, symptom management, medication management, life skills, expressive arts, and relationships. Services are provided on a group and individual basis.
Partial Care Counselors communicate all significant changes in the client's behavior level and notable incidents to the appropriate team leader. Partial Care Counselors act as liaisons and client advocates for community resources. Partial Care Counselors are also responsible for ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment and adhering to all safety standards, Federal and State regulations, and corporate policies. Performs other duties from time-to-time, be deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in mental health or a related human services discipline OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of related work-life experience (if the degree is not in a human services field, you need to have at least 1 year of work-life experience)
- Valid driver's license
- Good driving record with no more than 5 points
- Ability to successfully complete a physical, drug screen, and background check
