Vehicle Technician - Plymouth

Our client, a reputable independent garage in Plymouth, is seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Technician to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals looking to enhance their career within a busy, well-established workshop environment. The successful Technician will have access to a supportive induction and growth pathway, working on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.

Varied workload covering both routine servicing and heavy mechanical repairs
Working hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with optional Saturday overtime
Generous holiday entitlement of 20 days plus bank holidaysDuties:

Performing diagnostics and repairs on a diverse range of vehicle makes and models as a Vehicle Technician
Conducting routine services such as oil changes, brake replacements, and suspension work
Fitting components including cam belts, brakes, and suspension parts
Repairing and replacing gearboxes and engines, avoiding strip/rebuild work on automatic transmissions
Assisting with MOT Testing, either as a qualified tester or undergoing training
Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, to high standards, and within specified timescales
Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and services carried out
Contributing to a safe and clean workshop environmentRequirements of this Vehicle Technician role: 

Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a busy workshop setting
Strong diagnostics and heavy mechanical repair skills
Good knowledge of electrical systems and engine work
MOT Tester certification is preferable; training can be provided if required
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Effective team player capable of working independently
