We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of our energy future education outreach team. This is a pivotal role which involves delivering engaging and information sessions around Net Zero and climate change.
As a Net Zero Trainer & Educator you will be focused on creating sessions to demonstrate how NGN can reach NET Zero and the work NGN undertake to help decarbonise the energy system.
The role holder will work with stakeholders to tailor the sessions to the needs of schools and colleagues communicating to both students and schooling staff. Topics will range from Net Zero, the greenhouse effect, renewable energy, the future of energy, as well as the effect of green house effect.
You will need to travel to the various places in order to deliver the education sessions. Therefore, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Delivering a suite of interactive and engaging learning that will be deliver through a range of methods including assemblies, lessons, presentations, fairs, career talks and full day activities
- Supporting in the design of new educational resources with the education team
- Evaluating and monitoring the energy futures Net Zero education outreach program sessions, tailoring the sessions/content to the prescribed audience
- Delivering training (CPD) for education staff around Net Zero and the role NGN can play in Net Zero to allow school staff to have informed discussions with their students.
- Keeping up to date with the developments in the gas industry and the move towards Net Zero, so to inform and update content of sessions being presented
- Spreading the reach of our education outreach program further across our network to reach as many stakeholders as possible, seeking out new ways to reach various and new audiences
What we are looking for
- Experience of working with young people/members of the community in a prior role
- Have a passion for communicating with children within an inclusive environment
- Excellent communication skills verbally and written
- Enthusiastic individual with confidence and self-motivation
- Passion for learning and community engagement
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively as part of a team
- Be able and willing to work flexibly to fully achieve the requirements of the role as some sessions may be out of normal working hours – may include some evening and weekends (very occasional)
- IT Skills competent in using Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is required
- Capability to undertake an enhanced criminal record check through the Disclosure and Barring Service as working with young people
