Location: Barnet, North-West London
Pay: £95 - £115 per day, depending on experience (PAYE)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Barnet, which supports secondary-aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education or require additional behavioural and emotional support. The school is seeking a skilled and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September.

The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor in a PRU setting, you will support pupils both in and out of class to help them regulate their behaviour, re-engage with learning, and develop positive coping strategies. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to create a calm, structured environment where students feel understood and supported. This role requires strong emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trust and consistency.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Previous experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally in a PRU or alternative provision

Confidence in managing challenging behaviour with a calm, professional approach

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships

A non-judgemental, patient, and resilient attitude

A commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning

Full-time availability from September 2025
