Ready to lead on housing standards and make a real impact? We’re looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our Private Sector Housing team. You’ll play a key role in supporting the Head of Housing, managing complex complaints, overseeing housing grants, and guiding a small team of technicians and admin staff.
Key Responsibilities: - Investigate and resolve private sector housing complaints
- Apply HHSRS assessments and ensure housing conditions meet legal standards
- Oversee the delivery of housing grants and improvement schemes
- Provide leadership and technical support to a small team
- Liaise with landlords, tenants, and partner agencies
What You’ll Need: - HHSRS Certification (2-day training in an environmental health context)
- In-depth knowledge of private sector housing legislation and housing grants
- Proven experience in environmental health and team leadership
- A full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
