A client within the Public Sector based in North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Supervisor to join their Highways & Construction team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a highways environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Seamer Carr or Whitby depots, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of highways and construction projects, including reactive and planned maintenance schemes, as well as capital works programmes.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Leading and supporting a team of operatives, subcontractors, and depot staff
• Planning and coordinating materials, plant, and labour
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Monitoring project progress, budgets, and performance
• Mentoring and developing the team to achieve success

The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:

• Proven experience in highways or construction at Ganger level or above
• Knowledge of Traffic Management (TM1, TM2, T7)
• Understanding of health & safety legislation and quality assurance

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• SSSTS qualification
• Experience with NEC forms of Contract
• Good IT skills with Microsoft Office packages
