School Liaison & Marketing Officer

Primary Purpose of the Role
To build strong relationships with local schools, colleges and sixth forms and coordinate engagement activities, and support the recruitment of students to Cambridge Regional College by promoting its courses and services. The role reports to the Schools Engagement Manager, Senior Marketing Manager, and the wider marketing team to deliver high-quality promotional and engagement activities.

This position is based across both the Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses and requires regular travel between locations, as well as to schools and community venues. The post-holder will need to must have a valid driving licence and use of their own car and ensure availability for some evening and weekend events as required. The role reports into the Schools Engagement Manager with a dotted line into the Senior Marketing Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

School Engagement and Relationship Building

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local schools, colleges and sixth forms to ensure opportunities to engage with students to provide information, advice and guidance to all students

Promote the college, its courses and services to school and sixth form students, their parents and staff

Maintain and build relationships with partner organisations, for example, with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, Careers Hubs and Form the Future

Represent the college's values and ethos as an ambassador

Develop tailored communications for schools for key periods in the academic year, ensuring consistent and professional messagin

Event Coordination and Attendance

Organise, coordinate and attend school engagement events on behalf of the college, activities include post-16 information evenings, careers fairs, taster days, exhibitions, presentations and assemblies

Support and attend events on-campus (e.g. taster days, open days, apprenticeship awards and parents' evenings)

Deliver presentations at school assemblies and events to raise awareness of the college's offer

Working with School Engagement Manager, curriculum and marketing teams, to organise and create engaging events and information materials for prospective students

Coordinate with college staff supporting events to ensure attendance and key information is disseminated

Ensure availability for evening and weekend events as required

Support event delivery and coordination amongst the wider team including community events, open days, awards, exhibitions and festival of achievement.

Education Awareness and Knowledge

Maintain up to date knowledge of the college's offering across post-16 education and higher education as well as a working knowledge of the college's adult education provision

Stay informed about curriculum developments in secondary, further, and higher education, and communicate these effectively

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the college's admissions processes, learning support, transport options, and student services

Marketing & Communications

Create and deliver a variety of communications with local schools, including email campaigns, presentations, posters, postcards, social media and SMS

Plan and deliver communications during key periods in the academic year, such as application deadlines, GCSE results days and advice cafés, to ensure timely and relevant information is shared with schools, students, and parents

Promote school liaison activities and initiatives via social media and digital channels, adhering to GDPR guidelines

Capture case studies with partnered schools to enrich school liaison materials

Collaborate with the marketing team to align school communications with broader recruitment and engagement campaigns

Administrative, Reporting and Research

Maintain accurate records and tracking documents for the school liaison events calendar and relationship management systems where required

Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on engagement and recruitment activities

Evaluate and review activities' performance and impact with recommendations and implementing them in future activities

Conduct surveys with schools to gather feedback on their needs, preferences, and perceptions of the college's offer

Contribute to the development of promotional content and consent checking, website updates and reviewing information in print materials

Support administrative tasks, including event planning and coordination, data entry, stock control, digital asset management and departmental administration

Other Accountabilities

To maintain professional standards in relationships, including non-discriminatory practices, and to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.

Actively support the College's values, policies and procedures, particularly responding to those relating to health and safety, safeguarding, equality and diversity, data protection and GDPR.

Be familiar with and promote safeguarding requirements, as outlined in the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure and ensure you undertake appropriate training provided by the College.

Carry out such duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work (etc) Act 1974 and associated legislation as described in the College's Health and Safety policy documents

Adhere to the Risk Management Policy and notify your line manager of any identified risk.

Such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may be reasonably required at any of the College locations.

Role Requirements and Expectations

Regular travel between Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses as well as to schools in Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas is required

The post-holder must have a valid UK driving licence and own car

Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends to support key events, particularly during the Autumn term

Carry out any other duties agreed with your line manager to support the marketing team and wider college objectives
