Join the Blackpool Family Safeguarding Team as a Family Worker. This role is crucial in providing support and direct intervention to families under statutory plans or through Early Help Assessments. You will be part of a dynamic team, working under the direction of a Team Manager, to ensure positive outcomes for families in need.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct home visits and work directly with parents/families to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Perform whole family assessments using evidence-based tools to evaluate risk and resilience factors.
  • Co-produce plans with families and other agencies, focusing on SMART, outcomes-driven goals.
  • Lead formal multi-agency reviews adhering to practice standards.
  • Deliver practical interventions and maintain accurate case file records that reflect the child's voice.
  • Organise and participate in group work with parents and/or children.
  • Provide reports for assessments, review meetings, court proceedings, and other requirements.
  • Support the development of the Family Hub model and contribute to team meetings and planning processes.
  • Ensure adherence to council policies and guidelines, including safeguarding and health and safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (Social Care, Health, Education, Childcare, or Community) - Essential
  • Accreditation in an Evidence-Based Programme (e.g., parenting, domestic abuse) - Desirable
  • Experience in completing specialist assessments (e.g., PAMS, AIM) - Desirable
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to develop and sustain professional relationships - Essential
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and their families in a relevant setting - Essential
  • Knowledge of child development and safeguarding - Essential
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and in partnership with parents - Essential
  • Experience in delivering group work with children and adults - Desirable
