Fraser Recruitment is partnering with a professional network of consultancies operating across planning, design, and rural sectors to recruit an Associate Director - Town Planning to join the Manchester office.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a respected company within a multi-office network, contributing to high-profile planning projects and shaping the future growth of the North West team.

The network brings together specialist planning, design, and property expertise across multiple offices, enabling member companies to deliver evidence-led, high-quality advice across diverse projects.

The group supports a wide range of clients, including developers, landowners, and public sector organisations, guiding projects from feasibility and planning applications through to public consultation, appeals, and Environmental Impact Assessments. Projects span multiple sectors, including commercial and industrial, housing, energy, sport and leisure, and transport, offering the chance to work on complex and high-profile planning challenges.

In this senior role, you will take ownership of major planning projects, providing strategic leadership and expert advice. You will lead housing land supply (HLS) assessments, manage planning appeals, and act as Expert Witness where required. You will also support teams and clients across project delivery, liaising with multidisciplinary colleagues across the network to ensure planning strategies are robust, evidence-based, and aligned with policy and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) with at least ten years' experience in private planning consultancy, including significant experience managing planning appeals and HLS assessments. You will have a strong network of clients, the ability to generate new business opportunities, and proven experience leading projects independently while supporting and mentoring colleagues.

This is a unique chance to join a growing and reputable consultancy within a collaborative professional network. You will work on diverse, high-profile projects across the UK, benefit from shared expertise across multiple offices, and play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and reputation of the North West team. The role comes with a competitive salary and benefits package, alongside excellent opportunities for career development.
