Shape the financial strength and commercial future of a purpose-driven organisation committed to creating safe homes and brighter futures.

Imagine leading the financial and commercial direction of an organisation where your decisions directly contribute to stronger homes, resilient systems, and brighter futures.
At Selwood Housing, that's the impact you'll have.

As our new Group director of finance & commercial, you'll help ensure we remain financially resilient, well-governed, and equipped to deliver on our long-term ambitions for our customers and communities.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a broad and influential portfolio - spanning finance, treasury, procurement, commercial strategy, governance and Company Secretary responsibilities - at a time when strong financial leadership has never been more important.

About the role
As a key member of our Executive Team, you'll provide strategic leadership across all finance and commercial activities. You'll shape our financial planning, strengthen governance, and support critical decisions that influence our services, investment choices, and organisational direction. This is a role with real breadth, influence and visibility - one where your expertise will directly shape Selwood's financial resilience, organisational effectiveness and long-term impact.

You will:
* Lead financial planning, long-term modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis, ensuring Selwood is prepared for future opportunities and challenges.
* Oversee treasury and funding, including liquidity management, covenant monitoring, lender engagement and the ongoing development of our capital strategy.
* Drive a modern, strategic approach to procurement and commercial services, ensuring value for money, effective supply chain management, and alignment with sustainability and social value goals.
* Strengthen the integrity of our financial systems, internal controls and governance frameworks, ensuring full compliance with statutory, regulatory and audit requirements.
* Act as the organisation's Company Secretary, supporting Board and Committee reporting and maintaining robust governance records.
* Lead and develop high-performing teams across finance, procurement and commercial functions - championing accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:
We're looking for a values-led leader who brings strategic clarity, strong financial stewardship and a commitment to delivering great outcomes for our customers, colleagues and communities. You'll lead with purpose, develop high-performing teams and ensure every decision, process and control strengthens Selwood's long-term resilience.
Customer Driven: You understand how financial and commercial decisions shape customer outcomes. You ensure our planning, controls, procurement and governance frameworks support high-quality services and long-term investment in safe, affordable homes.
Accountability: You take ownership of financial integrity - from long-term modelling and treasury management to audit, procurement and governance reporting. You set clear expectations, make sound judgements and ensure regulatory, and compliance standards are met.
Develop & Learn: You stay curious about emerging financial, commercial and regulatory developments. You use data insight, modern tools and innovation to strengthen decision-making, improve value for money and grow capability across your teams.
Champion Communication: You communicate complex financial and commercial information clearly and confidently, enabling strong decision-making at Board, Executive and organisational levels. You build trusted relationships and promote openness, collaboration and shared understanding.

You'll bring:
* Proven senior leadership across finance, treasury or commercial functions, with the confidence to advise Executive colleagues and the Board.
* Strong technical expertise in financial planning, long-term modelling, treasury management, funding, financial control and commercial oversight.
* A strategic mindset, able to balance risk, opportunity and value for money while shaping decisions that support long-term organisational resilience.
* Governance and regulatory strength, with a clear understanding of audit, risk, compliance and the responsibilities of a Company Secretary.
* Empathy, clarity and influence, enabling you to communicate complex financial information in a way that supports alignment and strong decision-making.
* A collaborative, cross-organisational approach, building trusted relationships and contributing actively to corporate planning and organisational development.
