We are currently recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to join our Concrete team. This is a home based role covering the following areas: Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Rutland, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Essex.

The successful candidate will be required to present and sell the company's product portfolio to existing and potential customers inherent within the construction industry, leading with and specialising in, General Builders Merchants and Fencing Specialists. They will be directly responsible for the effective day to day management and sales development of branches and regions within a defined territory, whilst maintaining a high level of service delivery. New business expansion is also a key area of consideration, so a skill base that can be expanded and a mentality that embraces change is also important.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Be accountable for developing and implementing a Regional Execution Plan in conjunction with the RSM, which will have a strong link and be supportive of the company's Commercial Strategy.

Improve distribution, ROS and the on-boarding of new business, in line with business targets.

Develop and deliver a contact strategy that builds first class business relationships and increases selling opportunity and capability.

To ensure consistent and first class standards of operation are adhered to at all times (including, callage plans, CRM reporting, credit notes, quotes etc.)

To act as a catalyst to implement the change required, to stay ahead of the competition in a business and market that is evolving at pace

To work collaboratively with Internal Sales and all other business partners, to ensure the development, negotiation and execution of an activity plan is delivered in full.

To develop and lead 'perfect outlet' thinking and implementation.

To continually review sales data in order to support commercial activity whilst embracing emerging technologies to maximise opportunities within the sales cycle.

Identify and develop effective and mutually beneficial relationships with regional contacts within both national and regional customers including, but not limited to: Regional Directors, Sales Managers and Inventory Managers.

Work across the following product categories within the Merchant sector: Fencing, Building, Lintels, Beams, Roofing, Cast Stone, Walling Stone.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Strong formal and informal presentation skills.

Effective written and face to face communication skills.

Negotiation and account management skills.

Effective time management

Good business acumen.

The ability to use relevant computer applications and to think creatively, analytically and commercially.

Drive For Results

Highly self-motivated with strong resilience.

Good understanding of the general builders merchant sector and associated product knowledge.

Desirable proficiency in MS Office
