Maintenance Engineer Dudley, West Midlands £40,000 – £50,000 per year (including shift allowance) Rotating 2 Shift Pattern Weekly Pay + Overtime Available The Opportunity A well-established steel processing company based in Dudley is currently looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable manufacturing environment offering competitive pay, regular overtime opportunities, and strong company benefits. You will be working as part of a two-person engineering team on shift, alongside an electrician, supporting the maintenance and reliability of plant machinery. Working Hours Rotating 3-shift pattern:
    • 6:00am – 2:00pm
    • 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Salary & Benefits
    • £40,000 – £45,000 annual salary (including shift allowance)
    • Weekly pay
    • 33 days annual leave including fixed shutdown periods
    • Company pension scheme (3% employee / 3% employer contribution – currently under review)

Role Responsibilities
    • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and machinery.
    • Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime.
    • Work safely and professionally while adhering to company health and safety procedures.
    • Complete shift reports and maintenance documentation.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and the wider engineering team.
Key Duties
    • Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    • General welding and fabrication work
    • Oxygen / acetylene burning
    • Bench fitting and mechanical repairs
    • Operation of forklifts, cherry pickers and overhead cranes (OHC) where required
Experience & Qualifications
    • Time served apprenticeship preferred
    • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering
    • Previous experience within heavy industry or manufacturing environments
    • Experience with steel processing equipment such as slitting or decoiling lines would be advantageous
    • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
