steel processing company based in Dudley is currently looking to recruit an
experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable manufacturing environment offering

two-person engineering team on shift, alongside an electrician, supporting the maintenance and reliability of plant machinery. Working Hours Rotating 3-shift pattern:
Salary & Benefits
- £40,000 – £45,000 annual salary (including shift allowance)
- 33 days annual leave including fixed shutdown periods

Role Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and machinery.
- Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime.
- Work safely and professionally while adhering to company health and safety procedures.
- Complete shift reports and maintenance documentation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and the wider engineering team.
Key Duties
- Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- General welding and fabrication work
- Oxygen / acetylene burning
- Bench fitting and mechanical repairs
- Operation of forklifts, cherry pickers and overhead cranes (OHC) where required
Experience & Qualifications
- Time served apprenticeship preferred
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering
- Previous experience within heavy industry or manufacturing environments
- Experience with steel processing equipment such as slitting or decoiling lines would be advantageous
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
