Are you passionate about fleet compliance, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency? A leading London borough is seeking a Street Cleansing Fleet Officer to play a critical role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and sustainability of its extensive street cleansing vehicle fleet.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Passenger Operations and Fleet Manager, and working closely with the Street Cleansing Manager, you will be responsible for:

Ensuring compliance with driver hours regulations, vehicle safety protocols, and environmental standards.

Supporting the development and enforcement of a robust compliance framework across a fleet of over 100 vehicles valued at £7.7 million.

Conducting regular audits and inspections to maintain top-tier fleet performance and legal conformity.

Leading and promoting fleet-related training initiatives for drivers and supervisors.

Liaising with contractors, insurance providers, and internal departments on maintenance, procurement, and claims.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and monitor Operator Licence requirements and associated audit systems.

Maintain accurate records of driver CPC training, insurance claims, MOT schedules, and vehicle hire.

Monitor and report on compliance matters, including speeding, overloading, and legal offences.

Advise on vehicle procurement in line with operational and environmental goals.

Ensure alignment with DVSA requirements and all council policies and procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

In-depth knowledge of fleet maintenance, emissions standards, and legal compliance requirements.

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and report-writing skills.

Experience working with vehicle software systems and Microsoft Office.

Demonstrated ability to manage high workloads and meet tight deadlines.

Previous experience in a fleet or street cleansing operations role is highly desirable.

A clean driving licence is essential.
