Maintenance Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, employees, and visitors. You will carry out a range of general health & safety checks, cleaning, building maintenance, and caretaking tasks, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled, including fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, and emergency lighting tests.
- Conduct planned room health & safety checks in coordination with Customer Services.
- Deliver first-line response to reactive maintenance, cleaning, and repairs.
- Perform minor building fabric spot cleaning, repairs, decorating tasks, and plumbing repairs.
- Inspect plant rooms and boilers for leaks and general condition.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring it is well stored and meets all safety requirements.
- Conduct tests on all portable electrical appliances as required.
- Use a range of common hand and power tools to carry out maintenance tasks.
- Assist with the inspection of the condition of the grounds, building, and facilities.
- Undertake general janitorial duties and ad-hoc porterage duties as requested.
- Maintain accurate digital documentation and provide excellent customer service to residents.
- Proactively monitor communal areas and report any issues related to health & safety, maintenance, or cleaning.
- Liaise with Sub-Contractors to ensure good Health and Safety practices and high-quality work standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building cleaning, maintenance, handyperson, or caretaking duties.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment.
- Proficient communication skills and IT/systems skills.
- Ability to manage workload effectively under pressure and accurately input information on a database

Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates will undergo a criminal record check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
