Teaching Assistant - Basingstoke
Prospero Teaching is looking for a friendly, motivated Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Basingstoke area. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting children in their learning and wants to make a positive impact in the classroom.
You'll work alongside teachers to support lessons, provide additional guidance to pupils who need help focusing or building confidence, and contribute to creating a welcoming, structured learning environment. This role offers great variety, with opportunities to assist in small-group activities, offer 1:1 support, and help pupils develop their academic and social skills.
Whether you've worked with children before or you're a graduate exploring a future in teaching, psychology or education, this is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same.
The Role:
- Provide general classroom support across a range of subjects
- Work with pupils 1:1 and in small groups to reinforce learning
- Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
- Support teachers with classroom preparation and day-to-day activities
- Help children navigate lessons and transitions calmly and confidently
- Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a supportive presence
- Promote a safe, inclusive and encouraging classroom atmosphere
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children is desirable (school, tutoring, coaching, childcare, youth work, etc.)
- Patient, supportive and confident in a busy classroom setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptable and able to support different age groups when needed
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Graduates in psychology, education, child development or similar fields encouraged to apply

- Pay:£14.66-£15.66 per hour

Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- Experience with children preferred
- Understanding of basic classroom expectations helpful
- Safeguarding training can be provided

- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
