Role Profile of Policy Executive
The Policy Executive will support ICAEW's policy and public affairs work by contributing research, analysis, and coordination on key policy areas affecting the profession and wider economy.
The role involves drafting briefing papers, policy positions and internal updates, as well as supporting engagement with government, regulators, and other stakeholders. The Policy Executive will play an important role in supporting ICAEW's ambition within its new strategy Direction 2030 to lead conversations on issues that matter for the profession and business. The role is proactive in ensuring ICAEW achieves its strategic initiative in engaging with policymakers, parliamentarians, thought leaders and the wider business community, and doing so with a bolder voice.
Policy Executive Responsibilities include:
* Monitor and analyse developments in government, parliament, and regulatory bodies relevant to ICAEW's policy priorities.
* Support the drafting and coordination of ICAEW responses to government and regulatory
* consultations.
* Assist in maintaining the policy and comms "grid" of messages, communications, and timelines to ensure alignment across ICAEW.
* Provide administrative and policy support for meetings with government officials, regulators, and parliamentarians.
* Contribute to cross-team projects on major policy initiatives and campaigns.
Policy Executive Candidate Profile
Policy Executive Requirements include:
* Proven analytical and research skills, with the ability to digest and summarise complex information clearly.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Interest in public policy, politics, and economic or business issues.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective working relationships.
