Project Surveyor - Education & Healthcare Projects

Based in Hatfield | Permanent | Up to £65,000 + Car Allowance + Package

A long-established and financially stable regional main contractor is looking for a capable Project Surveyor to join their commercial team, managing multiple small to medium-sized projects across the education and healthcare sectors.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and a reputation for delivering quality builds with a personal touch, this is a great opportunity to take commercial ownership of varied and meaningful projects across the Home Counties and North London.

The Role:

You'll be based out of the Hatfield office, overseeing several live sites — typically refurbishment and new build schemes in the £250k to £3m range. Reporting to a Commercial Manager, you'll be trusted to handle everything from subcontractor procurement to final accounts.

Responsibilities:

Commercial management of multiple concurrent projects

Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract management

Monthly valuations, CVRs, and cost reporting

Identify and manage variations and change control

Work closely with site and project managers to ensure efficient delivery

Liaise with clients, consultants, and the supply chain

About You:

Proven experience as a Quantity or Project Surveyor with a main contractor

Experience delivering education, healthcare, or public sector works

Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts

Able to manage multiple smaller schemes at once

A proactive, hands-on approach with strong communication skills

Based within easy reach of Hatfield, with flexibility for local site travel
