Futures are looking to appoint a mechanical fitter for a well known manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and continuous improvement. The business operates modern production facilities and supplies into a range of industrial sectors.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and production machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and align mechanical components and machinery
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics
- Replace bearings, seals, gearboxes, motors, and other mechanical components
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
The ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics (desirable)
- The ability to read technical drawings
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
