Futures are looking to appoint a mechanical fitter for a well known manufacturing business. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and production machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and align mechanical components and machinery
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production equipment
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics
• Replace bearings, seals, gearboxes, motors, and other mechanical components
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

The ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics (desirable)
• The ability to read technical drawings
• A proactive and safety-conscious approach
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
