Are you a safeguarding expert with proven experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead? We are seeking a highly skilled and committed professional to take on the vital role of DSL in a thriving secondary school environment.
About the Role: As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will be the cornerstone of the school’s safeguarding strategy, ensuring the highest standards of protection and care for all students. You will lead on all aspects of safeguarding and child protection, working closely with senior leadership, external agencies, and staff to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the safeguarding and child protection strategy across the school.
- Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns and referrals.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to staff on safeguarding matters.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with statutory requirements.
- Liaise with external agencies including social care, police, and health services.
- Monitor and evaluate safeguarding practices and policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
About You: - Substantial experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (not a first-time DSL).
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, guidance, and best practice.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
- Relevant safeguarding training and qualifications.
