Children’s Support Worker
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: £15.00 per hour

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Children’s Support Worker to support a child with SEND and an acquired brain injury within a family home and community setting in Stockport, Manchester.
This is a structured daytime role combining therapeutic-style support with practical domestic assistance, helping to maintain a calm, organised, and predictable environment.
This role involves working closely within the family home, supporting daily routines, emotional regulation, and structured activities, while reinforcing guidance from Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), and psychology teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting daily routines and emotional regulation
- Facilitating structured activities and community access
- Reinforcing therapy guidance in day-to-day settings (non-clinical delivery)
- Supporting household organisation and routine
- Light domestic duties including tidying and meal preparation
Shift pattern:
- Monday to Sunday
- 9:00am – 5:00pm (8-hour shifts)
- Rota agreed in advance
Important:
- This is not a babysitting role
- This is not a purely clinical role
- This is not crisis or restraint-based support
This is a long-term position suited to someone who values consistency, structure, and meaningful progress.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Understanding of acquired brain injury or neurodiversity
- Background as a Support Worker, SEN Teaching Assistant, Therapy Assistant, or similar
- Ability to work independently within a family home
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
