Astro Education is working with a welcoming village primary school near Crewe to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 6.

The school offers a supportive, community-focused environment, making it an excellent setting for both staff and pupils.

The Role

You will be supporting a Year 6 pupil with autism on a 1:1 basis.

* Providing structured, consistent support throughout the school day

* Supporting communication and engagement in learning

* Working closely with teaching staff and SENCO

* Helping the pupil access the curriculum and prepare for transition

The pupil is non-violent, but communication can be a challenge, so patience and adaptability are key.

Requirements

* Experience supporting SEN, particularly autism

* Calm, patient and resilient approach

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
