Role Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team based at our modern office in Stratford London. The ideal candidate will oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple rail-related projects, ensuring value for money, effective cost control, and contract compliance. This is a hands-on role suited to a confident commercial professional with a deep understanding of NEC contracts and the rail sector.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead all commercial functions across a portfolio of structural examination and asset management contracts.
• Take ownership of project budgets, forecasting, and cost control from inception to final account.
• Manage contract administration in accordance with NEC and other standard forms of contract.
• Prepare applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, engagement, and payments.
• Provide commercial input into tendering, pricing, and business development activities.
• Mitigate commercial and contractual risks through proactive identification and resolution.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and the wider delivery team to monitor programme performance.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and document management for all commercial matters.
• Produce monthly CVRs and commercial reports for internal and client review.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to maintain transparency and trust.

Key Requirements
• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor in a rail, civil engineering, or infrastructure environment.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (particularly NEC3 and NEC4).
• Relevant degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Management).
• RICS accreditation (or working toward) desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Proficient in MS Excel and cost management systems.
