Teaching Assistant (SEND) – Full TimeLocation: Bournville (Secondary Department)Start Date: ASAPContract: Full TimeTime: 8:15am-15:15pm.
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a lovely secondary department at a seconary school in south birmingham, supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is a welcoming and inclusive all-through school, part of a successful multi-academy trust, where staff work collaboratively to provide a supportive and inspiring learning environment for all students. The school places a strong emphasis on wellbeing and ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed.
The Role:
- Supporting students with SEND within the secondary setting
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with differentiated learning activities to meet individual needs
- Supporting students’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and engagement
- Working closely with teaching staff and the SEND team
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have prior experience working with children or young people (essential)
- Experience within a school setting is desirable but not essential
- Have transferable skills from roles such as youth work, coaching, care, or support work
- Be patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting students with additional needs
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
