We're supporting a leading engineering organisation in their search for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join their team working on high-profile nuclear projects in the UK and internationally. The role
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across nuclear new build projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure safe, cost-effective design and delivery. You'll be a key part of a project-based team, offering both strategic input and hands-on engineering expertise.
Warrington | Knutsford | Gloucester | Newcastle | Other UK Locations Considered
Full-time | 40 hours per week | Flexi Time Available
Hybrid Working: 3 Office Days / 2 Remote Days per Week
Nuclear Sector
Your duties and responsibilities will be
* Capture and manage system requirements (e.g. using IBM DOORS).
* Translate project requirements into robust electrical system designs.
* Validate designs through functional analysis, modelling, and simulation.
* Develop and review electrical tests to verify compliance.
* Liaise with external bodies including regulators, clients, and suppliers.
* Ensure alignment with relevant UK and international standards and regulations.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
* Degree or HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards CEng/IEng.
* Background in nuclear, energy, or large-scale infrastructure preferred.
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and system integration.
* Proficient in industry tools (e.g. MS Office, ETAP, Aveva 3D).
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Must be eligible for security clearance.
