Overview

A great opportunity has become available for an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a busy operations team. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient planning of daily transport activity, supporting the wider network, and contributing to ongoing performance improvements.

This role involves close collaboration with teams across Operations, Fleet, Customer Service, Finance and other internal departments to ensure the delivery of accurate plans, effective communication, and excellent service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise daily transport routes to maximise fleet efficiency.
• Ensure vehicles are utilised effectively to reduce mileage and increase delivery capacity.
• Work closely with customer service teams to provide accurate delivery information and handle special requirements.
• Resolve planning issues quickly to minimise disruption and protect service levels.
• Produce planning performance reports, including KPI analysis and plan-vs-actual comparisons.
• Support efficiency projects, including route optimisation and process automation.
• Work with system providers and internal teams to maintain and enhance planning tools.
• Support seasonal and peak resource planning.
• Maintain accurate data within key business systems.
