Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Field Service Engineer to perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and commissioning of diesel generator sets at customer locations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting ability, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on diesel generators (5kVA - 2000kVA+).

*

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.

*

Conduct generator testing, load banking, and commissioning activities.

*

Ensure proper documentation of service reports, parts usage, and work orders.

*

Perform inspections and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.

*

Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide support outside of normal working hours as needed.

*

Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations.

*

Liaise with customers to explain work performed and recommend ongoing maintenance plans.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

*

Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

*

2-5+ years of hands-on experience with diesel generators (Cummins, Perkins, CAT, FG Wilson, etc.).

*

Familiar with control panels (Deep Sea, ComAp, Woodward), ATS systems, and load management.

*

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

*

Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.

*

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field sites.

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

*

OEM certification from generator manufacturers (e.g., Cummins, FG Wilson, etc.).

*

Familiarity with remote monitoring systems and PLCs.

*

Experience in data logging and reporting tools.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

*

Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

*

Requires lifting heavy tools and components.

*

Must be comfortable working around high-voltage equipment
