JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION - South Yorkshire
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £32,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering company based in South Yorkshire who are looking to bring on a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team. The ideal candidate will have experience using Fusion 360.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC etc.)

2+ years of industry experience in a mechanical design role

Proficiency in Fusion 360 is essential

Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly

Strong technical drawing and 3D modelling skills

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Strong communication and organisational skills

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Creating 3D models and detailed technical drawings using Fusion 360

Developing new products and improving existing designs

Collaborating with other departments including production, R&D, and procurement

Producing BOMs and technical documentation for manufacture

Participating in design reviews and contributing to project development

Supporting prototyping, testing, and design validation activities

Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and customer specifications
