Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer (60/40 Electrical Bias - Manufacturing & Facilities)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer with a 60/40 electrical-to-mechanical bias to join our maintenance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving both production machinery and site facilities systems. You will play a key role in ensuring maximum operational uptime while maintaining full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across the manufacturing plant and supporting facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Equipment

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and process machinery.
Diagnose and repair faults on electrical systems, control panels, PLCs, and drives.
Perform mechanical maintenance on equipment such as conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Support production teams in identifying and resolving root causes of equipment failures.
Minimise production downtime through effective and timely response to breakdowns.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects, line upgrades, and automation initiatives.
Facilities Maintenance

Conduct electrical inspections and maintenance on lighting, power distribution, and building services.
Support HVAC, water, and compressed air system maintenance as required.
Carry out minor installations, wiring, and testing in accordance with 18th Edition standards.
Maintain accurate documentation for all maintenance activities, including safety checks and compliance records.
Coordinate with contractors and external service providers for larger projects.
Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Time-served or qualified Electrical Engineer (NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC, or equivalent).
Strong electrical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Basic mechanical maintenance skills including hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems.
Experience with PLC fault-finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar).
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Good understanding of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
Desirable

17th/18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certification.
Experience maintaining facilities systems (HVAC, BMS, lighting, etc.).
Experience using CMMS systems for maintenance planning and reporting.
Background in continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Lean, TPM).
PUWER awareness.
