Children and Family Social Worker - Bedfordshire

Pay rate: Up to £39.00 per hour

About the Role

You will be part of a Children and Families service responsible for delivering high-quality safeguarding and support to children, young people, and their families. The role involves managing a varied caseload and working within statutory frameworks to ensure safe and positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

* Undertaking Child and Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries

* Managing a diverse caseload including children in need, child protection, and court work

* Developing and implementing care plans that are outcome-focused and child-centred

* Completing high-quality assessments, reports, and court statements within required timescales

* Working in partnership with multi-agency professionals including education, health, and police

* Attending and contributing to strategy discussions, core groups, and review meetings

* Ensuring all work is compliant with statutory guidance and local authority procedures

Working Arrangements

* Minimum 2 days per week in the office (dependent on service needs)

* Full office attendance required during duty week

* Flexible hybrid working outside of duty commitments

Requirements

* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

* Significant experience within Children and Families services

* Strong assessment, analytical, and risk management skills

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

* Confident in court work and report writing
