Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum
Our client is looking for a commercially aware Financial Controller to manage and improve their accounts function. The company is B2B and is undergoing a period of rapid growth. Turnover is approx. £13m and the company employs 50 staff. This will be a key appointment to support the company in achieving its potential.
Reporting: The Financial Controller will report to the part-time FD and work closely with the MD.
On offer is a salary of approx £70-80k negotiable.
Assignment Details
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee all company accounts (cash flow, balance sheet, P&L)
- Oversee and manage accounts team of 2
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Timely production of management accounts
- Perform and review all balance sheet reconciliations
- Closely monitor and forecast cash flow
- Assist the FD in implementing improvements in accounting systems
- Ensure that financial processes and reports are robust
- The business has a large quantity and value of vehicles, many of which are leased. Tight controls over the fixed asset and lease registers are key.
- Collaborate with audit firm to ensure the annual statutory accounts are accurate and timely
- Develop budgets and financial plans for the company
- Ensure the reporting and reconciliation requirements of the Invoice Financing facility are met
- Assist with implementation of Direct Debit facility
Skills Required
- Qualifications preferred: ACA/FCA/ACCA/FCCA
- Experience at FC level in a similar position in an SME environment
- Sage 50/200 experience preferred
- Very strong Excel skills
- Good technical accounting skills
- Prepared to be hands-on
- A questioning mindset and confidence to propose changes to benefit the business.
