Essential Job Duties:

The position would ideally be filled by a candidate with working knowledge of ITS and Signalized intersection applications. Other skill sets would include freeway analysis, microsimulation, good statistical skills, and data collection applications.

Key responsibilities for this position include support roles in project management tasks, including report writing, coordinating assembly of material for progress reports, and attending progress meetings.

In addition to direct project-related tasks, this position is expected to assist in the preparation of state and national-level proposals, and be involved in group and ITRE staff meetings.

The position is expected to include some travel each year, including national conferences and individual or team data collection trips.

Other Work/Responsibilities:

Must have good writing skills. Applicant should also be able to manage undergraduate and graduate students to assist in conducting research efforts in a timely manner.

Minimum Experience/Education:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment.

Required Qualifications:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Ability to work independently and conduct research and literature review tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Civil Engineering preferred.

Strong background in statistics and/or simulation.

Transportation and/or research experience.
