About the Role
Reed Education are working closely with a well-regarded Harbour Learning Trust primary school in Grimsby to appoint an enthusiastic and confident Year 5 Teacher for a 4-week placement during the Summer Term.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, well-led Trust where high expectations, positive relationships, and pupil wellbeing are central to the school’s ethos. You’ll be teaching a lively and engaging Year 5 class, delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring continuity of learning in the run-up to the end of the academic year.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering high-quality, pre-planned lessons to a Year 5 class
- Maintaining strong classroom routines and behaviour expectations
- Creating a positive, structured and engaging learning environment
- Supporting pupils with key KS2 curriculum areas, including literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum subjects
- Encouraging pupils’ independence, resilience and confidence
To Thrive in This Role, You Are:
- Confident and adaptable, with strong behaviour management skills
- Dedicated and enthusiastic about teaching and supporting upper KS2 pupils
- Skilled at building quick rapport with staff and pupils
- Able to deliver lessons confidently from existing planning
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in KS2 (Year 5 experience desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
