My client are a well-established, highly profitable and rapidly growing contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction services with a strong repeat business model.

The Role

As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for managing the full tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission. This position would ideally suit someone with a background in Quantity Surveying who is used to pricing their own jobs or packages and is now looking to specialise or transition into a dedicated estimating role.

The role, in time will have scope to grow into a Lead Commercial Manager role for the region. This office is growing and requires someone with the energy, drive and desire to help with the growth of this division.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse tender documents, drawings, specifications, and related data to prepare accurate and competitive estimates.

Develop detailed cost plans

*

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and negotiate competitive rates.

*

Assess project risks and opportunities and factor them into pricing strategies.

*

Work closely with project managers and directors to prepare compelling tender submissions.

*

Assist in handovers to delivery teams post-contract award.

*

Track market trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure up-to-date estimating accuracy.

*

Maintain and update a database of historical project costs.

What We're Looking For

Background as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator, ideally with hands-on pricing experience.

Good communication and negotiation abilities with supply chain and internal teams.
