Ashton Recruitment is working on behalf of our client, a leading specialist in interior fit-out and bespoke joinery, to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering high-end projects across luxury residential, hospitality, retail, and corporate sectors.
This is a field-based role, involving proactive business development including on-site visits and door-to-door client engagement, with a strong focus on building relationships and securing new projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new opportunities within construction, interior fit-out, and bespoke joinery sectors
- Proactively generate leads through site visits, networking, and direct client engagement
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of projects including high-end residential and commercial fit-outs
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
- Deliver presentations, proposals, and capability statements
- Build long-term relationships with clients, architects, designers, and contractors
- Act as the key contact during pre-contract stages
- Understand client requirements and align services including bespoke joinery and interior solutions
- Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business
- Collaborate with estimating and technical teams on bids and proposals
- Review drawings, specifications, and joinery packages
- Support negotiations and contract discussions
- Contribute to pricing strategies and value engineering
- Monitor trends within construction and interior fit-out markets
- Identify growth opportunities across key sectors
- Provide insights to support business strategy
- Work closely with design, manufacturing, and project teams
- Ensure smooth handover from sales to delivery
- Support marketing and brand positioning

About You
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in business development within construction, fit-out, or joinery
- Proven success in securing commercial or high-end residential projects
- Strong understanding of tendering and project lifecycle
- Existing industry network (desirable)
- Strong negotiation and closing ability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Commercially aware with strong financial understanding
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Highly organised and self-motivated
- Results-driven and target-focused
- Confident and professional approach
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
