Ashton Recruitment is working on behalf of our client, a leading specialist in interior fit-out and bespoke joinery, to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering high-end projects across luxury residential, hospitality, retail, and corporate sectors.

This is a field-based role, involving proactive business development including on-site visits and door-to-door client engagement, with a strong focus on building relationships and securing new projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new opportunities within construction, interior fit-out, and bespoke joinery sectors
  • Proactively generate leads through site visits, networking, and direct client engagement
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of projects including high-end residential and commercial fit-outs
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
  • Deliver presentations, proposals, and capability statements
  • Build long-term relationships with clients, architects, designers, and contractors
  • Act as the key contact during pre-contract stages
  • Understand client requirements and align services including bespoke joinery and interior solutions
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business
  • Collaborate with estimating and technical teams on bids and proposals
  • Review drawings, specifications, and joinery packages
  • Support negotiations and contract discussions
  • Contribute to pricing strategies and value engineering
  • Monitor trends within construction and interior fit-out markets
  • Identify growth opportunities across key sectors
  • Provide insights to support business strategy
  • Work closely with design, manufacturing, and project teams
  • Ensure smooth handover from sales to delivery
  • Support marketing and brand positioning

About You

  1. Minimum 5+ years' experience in business development within construction, fit-out, or joinery
  2. Proven success in securing commercial or high-end residential projects
  3. Strong understanding of tendering and project lifecycle
  4. Existing industry network (desirable)
  5. Strong negotiation and closing ability
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  7. Commercially aware with strong financial understanding
  8. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  9. Highly organised and self-motivated
  10. Results-driven and target-focused
  11. Confident and professional approach
  12. Strong relationship-building skills
  13. Able to work independently and as part of a team
  14. High level of integrity and accountability
